Done for Another Year

The Scrapbook & Papercraft Convention & Expo is over for another year and I’m now home catching up on neglected home duties.  My fourth year working at the Expo has been as rewarding as the previous three.  I love meeting fellow photographers and scrapbookers, catching up with old friends and chatting to the class participants.

This year, as with last, Mel and I were teaching some of our Point Shoot Play Photography and Photoshop classes.  We had a ball!!  I’m sifting through hundreds of photos we took – mainly headshots for the “How to Use Your Camera & Take Better Photos” class.  I do have a handful of other photos I can share with you…

My Tutor Display.  I was fortunate this year to be at the very front of the display area.  I decided to select a variation of smaller images and loved the end result.  Heaps of business cards were taken for both my Sassi Photography and also Point Shoot Play.

The classroom all set up and ready to go!  I taught Creative Processing, then Taking Better Photos with Andrea Thompson, then helped Mel Mielekamp with Digi Scrapbooking.  Fiona Carson helped out through the classes also.  Between the four of us, we worked hard, had lots of fun and helped everyone through the classes.  We make a great team, methinks!!

Set up for the Photography class, was the leather couch (with material backdrops) and the infamous ‘Ugly Green Chair.  All our Photography class had photographs taken on the chairs.

The lovely Cassie & Kristy from Scrapbooking Memories (with Mel & I).  Kristy is my editor for the Phototech section I write for Scrapbooking Memories.

Cass Glass, myself, Jill Geraghty-Groves & Ngaire Bartlam catching up briefly.  Sweetest girls.  🙂

Wacom came to play….  “the Dark Side of Scrapbooking…”

Drea chatting to the class about best poses for photography, with Fiona watching on at the back.

Mel with the Point Shoot Play wall.

Showing off my wall – hahaha.  Yes, I usually feel awkward having my photo taken too!  Why do you think I’m usually BEHIND the camera!!

I saw SO many friends and acquaintences at the Expo.  Some I managed to catch up with and others just waved through the window of my classroom…  VERY distracting, I have to say, but funny – made me feel all warm and fuzzy!  Nice seeing Chelle Jamo, Leanne Stamatellos, Manda Moran, Gigi Scott, Ang O’Neale, Rachel Richter, Jill G-G, Sharon and the team from A Creative Place and Leisa, Kerry, Tam (below) and Katie from Scrapbook City.  Stacks of others dropped by to say hi, so sorry if I’ve left you off the list.  Hello back to everyone!  🙂

Jenny and Darryl (from Stamp Antics) were there with their team.

Mel from Passion for Paper modelling on our couch!

So, all in all, it was a fantastic show.  Thanks to all our class participants and a HUGE thanks to Mel (of course), Drea and Fiona plus David and Simon from Wacom.
xx S.
